I've loved making films and silly videos ever since I was a kid. It's what I want to do for the rest of my life. With my biggest and latest project "Finn" I felt a need to create something personal to me. I want to my films to feel sincere to my audience, and that begins with myself. Finn is a lot of things, but in the end it is a love letter to tabletop roleplaying games like Dungeons and Dragons, a story of self-discovery and acceptance through a game that I have seen transpire in loved ones, and a celebration in queerness, however it is felt and expressed. I hope to make more film's with Finn's sincerity and what others have deemed "gentleness" even as I stray into other genres and narratives.

Originally, Finn almost didn't get made. Another project came before it about the struggle between a father and son with opposing religious beliefs. However, that film fell through and Finn was born, following the story of the old project's supporting character in their own story. I'm so glad that fate had its way with this one. I believe Finn was always meant to be the film that got made. Its importance in showcasing an LGBTQ+ story is more potent now than ever and I plan on it being the first step in creating many more films that celebrate and represent LGBTQ+ people and stories.

About the Project

Brandon questions his gender after the death of his character in a tabletop roleplaying game. At the same time, an apathetic professor assigns him an essay about identity leading to a journey of self-discovery.
