"Love and Near-Death" is a romantic comedy musical which explores the unlikeliness, and the risks, of ever finding one's true "soul mate." When thwarted-romantic Amanda has a near-death experience, she finds her true love in the afterlife, only to be brought back to earth. She embarks on a journey to find him in the real world, with unforeseen complications.

About the Project

"Love and Near-Death" was created by a team who have worked together throughout the years on stage and screen. Screenwriter/playwright Stephen Garvey wrote the script as a vehicle for star Annie Watkins, who director Jay Stern has directed numerous times on stage (including in work by Garvey). Composer Logan Medland and choreographer Lorna Ventura have also worked with Jay and Stephen. Jay's long-time cinematographer Alan McIntyre Smith shot the film. This is their first time working with producer Josh Shull, but he is Annie Watkins' brother, and he and Annie work in film production together.
